Eric Heitmann & Associates, Transportation Safety Consultants LLC (EHA) is a full-service transportation safety consulting firm specializing in motor vehicle crash investigation, accident reconstruction, traffic and fleet safety, training, and motor vehicle racing compliance. Founded by Eric Heitmann, EHA leverages interdisciplinary expertise and advanced investigative techniques to deliver thorough, defensible analysis for legal, insurance, and government clients.
Eric Heitmann is a highly respected traffic safety and accident reconstruction expert with 25 years in the New Jersey State Police, including leadership of the elite Fatal Accident Investigation Unit. A graduate of Syracuse University and formally trained in advanced crash investigation and reconstruction at Northwestern University, he has been qualified as an expert witness in both State and Federal courts. Over his career, he investigated and supervised thousands of crash cases, developed statewide traffic safety policies, and led large-scale traffic operations and safety initiatives across New Jersey.

Engagement Process
Initial Inquiry
Engagement begins with a confidential email inquiry or phone call, where a brief overview of the matter, relevant timelines, and the type of services requested can be discussed. Sensitive materials should not be transmitted by email until a formal agreement is in place. All inquiries are reviewed promptly and handled with discretion.
Case Review
Upon preliminary review, we evaluate the scope of the matter, available materials, and potential conflicts. This step determines whether the case aligns with our expertise and availability. If appropriate, we will outline the proposed scope of work and next steps.
Retainer & Fee Schedule
Services are initiated only upon execution of a written agreement and receipt of the required retainer. A fee schedule and engagement terms will be provided for review prior to commencement of services. Work proceeds strictly within the defined scope of engagement.

Investigation & Consulting
Following engagement, we conduct an independent and evidence-based evaluation consistent with industry standards and professional protocols.
